Need Some Help!!! Good Name For My Kitten!!!

Hello everybody

Yesterday I've show you my new kitten, and his name is "Dummy". Some of you don't like this name but I have some reason for this name. First, if Thai people call a word "black". It will pronounce "Dum" in Thai language , that's mean Black = Dum. Do some of you confuse? I'm so sorry for my poor english. And "Dummy" is a name of one kind of card play that I love to play with my friends. So I named him as "Dummy", but I have some idea after I've read all comment. Can all of you give me a name that you think match with my new kitten? Then me and my sister will choose of from all of your idea. I'll wait for a best name for my kitten!!!

Rgds and a lot of thanks
Parinya

Thank you for the explanation! Knowing that Dum=Black makes more sense know. "Dummy" is usually an insult in English, which is why so many people commented on the name.

I'm not very good when it comes to names, but I'm sure some other visitors will have some good suggestions!

Oh, Parinya! He is just adorable!! And now that I know the Thai word for "black", I think Dummy is cute! I'm not so good in thinking of names either. Maybe give him a few weeks and see how his personality is...then a name will come to you. Can't wait to see more of sweet, adorable Dummy!!

Yes, now that we know that Dum means black it all makes sense.
A friend of mine who also knows Thai said that it is spelled Dahm.
Maybe if you spelled the kittens name like Dahmmy no one would think its an insult in english.

I think Dummy is a cute name. My Mommie used to have a black cat named Slinky. We like that name, too.

Your new kitten, Dummy, is so adorable. We didn't know that Dum meant black either. It's always good to learn something new.

Thanks for all comment, now Batigoal don't meet Dummy. Dumy stay at my condominium with Money, Batigoal stay alone at my office. But now I plan to get one friend for Batigoal, but need to ask my boss that she allow me to bring one more cat or not.

ah, that makes more sense to me know. In English "Dummy" is an insult but you should name your new kitten whatever you want and worry about any translating later!
What a sweet little kitten. I'll bet it's a little snuggler too.
